Insecticides and acaricides
FESTIVE SC
Mode of Action:
Spiromesifen: Spiromesifen is a butenolide that is but-2-en-4-olide bearing a 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl groupat position 3, a 3,3-dimethylbutyryloxy group at position 4 and a spiro-fused cyclopentyl ring at position 5. It has a role asan insecticide. It is functionally related to a 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene and a 3,3-dimethylbutyric acid. Insecticide For use oncotton, field corn, ornamentals, pome fruit, strawberries, and vegetables Spiromesifen is authorized in the Netherlands forthe control of spider mites and whitefly in the non-soil-bound cultivation of strawberries, beans, floristry and tree nurserycrops and perennials. Like spirodiclofen, it is also effective against scale and scale insects. It is not harmful to bees orbumblebees, but it is very toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates.
Abamectin: Insecticides & Acaricides IRAC GROUP 6Main Group and Primary Site of Action : Glutamate-gated chloride channel (GluCl) allosteric modulators Nerve and muscleaction Strong evidence that action at one or more of this class of protein is responsible for insecticidal effects} ChemicalClass Avermectins-Milbemycins (6) Avermectins are 16-membered macrocyclic lactones produced by Streptomycesavermitilis, and abamectin is a blend of avermectin B1a and avermectin B1b. The anthelminthic, insecticidal, and acaricidalactivities of avermectins are well known and their mode of action is via blocking -amino butyric acid-stimulated chloridechannels and open non- neurotransmitter-gated chloride channels. This causes an ion imbalance in the nervous system, resulting in paralysis.
